What will it take?

What’s it take? What will it take for people to become proactive rather than reactive?

What am I talking about?

I am talking about apathy, the apathy of good people who sit by and watch their liberties, their way of life, their ability to build a business, their ability to grow their wealth and their ability to have a family to be under intense attack. The apathy of good people to sit by as their ability to enjoy a peaceful life, to watch their kids’ grow, to believe in what they want, to say what they want and to be able to express their opinions and beliefs is steadily eroded.

Have you wondered why the traditional family unit is under attack, why our kid’s minds are poisoned with Marxist socialist nonsense, why some of our kids are confused about whether they are male or female, why we tolerate males in girls’ and women’s sports, why we deny children the right to a father and mother and why we fill their heads with end of world apocalyptic predictions?

Do you sit by as our politicians, governments and fat cat bureaucrats erode our freedoms, with censorship, laws and the imposition of taxes, laws and regulations that continuously make it harder and harder for us to live a life of freedom, liberty, expression and happiness? Whether that be expressing an opinion, the ability to access the information we want or the ability to build the wealth that we are capable of, just to name a few examples.

Do you say nothing when politicians defame and demonise our history, our forefathers, our traditions, our heritage and culture for the sole purpose of making current and future generations feel guilty for sins of the past, some of which are real, many of which are fictional? All of this just so they can fill the gravy train troughs for their fat cat, do nothing friends to dive their snouts into.

Do you yell at all your social media devices with disdain for any or all of the above, but then do nothing to change things? I have asked myself this question quite a bit lately and the sad answer is a resounding yes.

For me, and I believe so many others like me, it’s time for that to stop, or we risk having to tolerate our way of life changing forever.  So, I am starting a personal journey of peaceful rebellion by writing this article to invite other like-minded people to join or support me in this rebellion of peaceful opposition to those who wish to rule us with ever-increasing oppressive ideology .

During the COVID-19 years in Melbourne, when I was staring at my four walls due to the restrictions imposed upon us by our politicians, bureaucrats, and governments, I engaged in citizen journalism. I wrote articles, tried a few podcasts, and even conducted some interviews with politicians.

Once restrictions lifted, I quickly reverted back to my other great passion in life, coaching and running administration in the sport of basketball. Before covid-19 I had been running my own business coaching basketball and servicing small businesses with website and social media solutions. That all came to an abrupt end when COVID-19 hit and sports and small business were effectively shut down for three years.

I even joined a political party during those COVID-19 years, I was that upset with how things were going.

Once the restrictions lifted  I reverted back to my pre-COVID-19 way of life.

That upon reflection was a mistake. I should have maintained that journalistic effort while returning to my previous life as well. A common mistake amongst us conservative folk who simply want to get on with our lives without imposing ourselves upon others.

While restrictions may lifted to a degree, government overreach has not, and government interference in our lives not only remains but is increasing. Our politician’s intentions to censor and control our lives continues unabated on both sides of the political aisle and things such as LGBTQI+ activism and terrorist protests continue throughout our society.

When do we say enough? For me, it is right now.

It’s time to begin to push back against our government overlords no matter where you reside in this country. For me, I live in what has become the socialist heartland of Australia in Melbourne. The only way you can push back is through one conversation at a time, one article at a time, one podcast at a time and one person at a time. Then hopefully over time, you can bring enough people to your cause to make a difference.

I am starting this in Melbourne, but there is no reason that if it’s successful it cant be repeated in other Australian cities and states.

The only way the left thrives is when good people don’t actively oppose them. As the Edmund Burke saying goes “The only thing necessary for evil to triumph in the world is that good men do nothing” or if you prefer, as I do, a gospel verse Romans 12:21 “Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

I am a Christian conservative and I came to that position through my own reflections, not due to political dogma. It’s a position that is not easy to hold and it’s even worse to proclaim it to others because as soon as you do you are then attacked for being a Nazi, a fascist, a bigot, a homophobe, a racist or whatever label the ignorant intolerant left and to be fair even some on the right can defame you with.

The reality is, if you are a legitimate Christian Conservative, you are a patriot, you embrace freedoms for everybody, you want peace in our world, you believe in being generous to others where you can, you want strong law and order institutions that protect citizens and those that can’t defend themselves, you honour your forefathers who came before you and built the nation that you now enjoy and the life you currently enjoy.

As a Christian Conservative, you believe in the right to life and the inalienable rights that should be provided to every human who has been given that right to life. As a Conservative Christian, you believe that every human has the right to pursue a life that guarantees happiness, builds wealth and allows charity and compassion to others.

What part of any of this is Fascism or far-right? What part of any of this makes you a Nazi or a racist or any of the other labels that the left throw at you? None of it does, yet many believe these labels because politicians and more importantly the media, allow these perceptions to be made to fester and to take hold.

So how do we counter that? In several ways.

First, you must decide to take a stand, draw a line in the sand and take not one step backwards. A good idea of how not to behave is the example set by the Liberal Party whether it’s at State or Federal level. For over a decade, they have chosen to engage in small-target politics instead of fighting for values and beliefs.

Second, you need to work to educate and lobby others to understand what being a “true’ conservative”  means, because if you do that they will embrace it. Once people understand that being a conservative means pride in your nation, the empowerment of the individual, the provision of freedoms and rights for citizens and the emboldening of citizens to pursue outstanding lives in a myriad of areas, how could you not support that ideology unless you are a masochist.

Third, you need to make your argument for change. We are rightly critical for example of the Liberal party in this country at both state and federal level as they have caved in to the moderate and labour-lite individuals within their ranks.

The left are organised, they are determined and they will keep on coming until they are defeated. In other words, this battle will be ongoing so we have to become just as organised and just as determined as they are. In consideration of all of this, I am going to engage in the following.

  • I am rejuvenating my article writing and podcasts through social media to make the argument for the Christian Conservative perspective.
  • I am going to be arranging monthly meetings across Melbourne at venues such as pubs, restaurants and other event venues.
  • Through my business, I will be establishing basketball venues and competitions where people families and individuals visit those venues on a weekly basis throughout the year. This also provides the potential for messaging those people through advertising, email newsletters and social media marketing to spread the word and instigate interest in what being a Christian conservative is about.

A basketball venue can literally have tens of thousands of people walk through its doors every week, week after week. It has tremendous potential to influence people’s thinking, opinions and values.

Once all of this is established, the ability to campaign and lobby for Conservative values and beliefs becomes a legitimate reality and the fight to turn the tide against the socialist and radical left,  including the moderate Liberals, begins in earnest.

To do this I will need support in a number of ways. These can include the following.

  • The simplest way would be to contribute financially or recruit others to do so. All of the above requires considerable funds. Our goal is to raise over $50,000.
  • The simplest way is to arrange a simple monthly payment via PayPal, alternatively, you can make a once-off payment. This is great for people who make online payments with their credit/debit cards.
  • You can also simply make an online payment directly into our bank account.
  • Finally, you can donate to our GoFundMe account to help us build our basketball association and venues.
For these options simply click on the PayPal button at the foot of this page.

If you can’t afford to make a financial contribution you can still support us in other ways.

  • You can spread the word to your followers encouraging them to support us.
  • If you have a venue in Melbourne that we can use for our monthly meetings then let me know.
  • We could use people who can put together a good meme for social media posts.
  • We could use people who know how to run a podcast, especially at different venues talking to different people.
  • Register for our newsletter through the newsletter sign-up form on the right of this page.

These are just some of the roles I can think of that people can help us out with. You may have others, if so then please get in touch and join the fight to return Melbourne back to its better self.

To be very clear this is not a political party, this is an effort to create a body of people to engage in discussion, education and promotion of Christian conservative values and ideas and to then use this to lobby political parties groups and politicians themselves to support our views and policy positions.

I believe it’s time for Christian Conservatives or Conservatives more generally to advocate loudly for our common values and beliefs and I hope in doing so myself it will encourage others to join in or support us in these endeavours.

I invite you to join me, I invite you to support this effort, I ask for you to help me push back. if not now, then what will it take?
